Original D&D 5e Content — Magic Weapon

The Cutting Stone was my first D&D homebrew item, as well as a tribute to my favorite band, The Decemberists. When I heard their song, “Cutting Stone,” I knew it had in-game potential. The song’s lyrics are mysterious but evocative, alluding to strange powers and feelings of compulsion—perfect for both mechanics and roleplay.

I created a legendary weapon, incorporated the original song into the lore of my game world, and created this, which is still probably my favorite homebrew item I’ve ever made.
